Ephesians is a letter written from prison to help the faithful in Christ Jesus.
verse 1-“Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus”. While sitting in prison, Paul declares his authority comes from God and addresses this letter to those that believed and were faithful. This letter was not written to just talk to them but to challenge them with the truth that was now going to be repeated and revealed.
verse 2-“Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul’s desire and blessing was shared to them and pronounced to be theirs from God. God had given it and Paul was reminding them of this wonderful experience. throughout this book we will be asking questions of what this books truths teach us and do in and for us. What if this letter were written directly to you? Would you be called “the faithful in Christ Jesus”? Guess what, it is! So how will it change you?
As we continue this study of Ephesians be reminded that this is for those particularly that are saved.
verse 3-Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:-Paul gives thanks to God, because God is blessed, after he says hello. Is this the way you approach others. what are the first things you say?  Then he says God blessed us with all spiritual not material blessings. Dont forget the Spirit that gives to us.
verse 4-  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Paul shows the reality of the perfect plan and purpose of our God. His plan was made before time and space. His purpose was for us to be like Him. Understanding this should make us think twice about whether our plans are the same as His and change accordingly. Does this affect you today?
Paul has the authority, asks for grace, thanks the Lord, and pronounces the plan. Are you willing to listen to God’s Word as He has this for you?
